From Our Pastor
In all likelihood, our Protestant forbears would have been shocked had someone informed them that we 21st century Presbyterians would still be celebrating Easter in the month of June.
One of the goals of the Reformation, which began in the 16th century, was to divest the church of unnecessary liturgical baggage associated with Roman Catholicism; and that included much of what we now think of as the Christian Year. Martin Luther removed veneration of the saints. John Calvin rejected most forms of music in worship, including the use of organs and choirs.
