A letter to Parents & Friends of Burgaw Presbyterian Preschool & Afterschool Programs,
Earlier this summer there was an accident involving a child in the church’s Summer Day Camp. In the light of that incident, the church governing board (the Session) suspended the program to reevaluate all aspects of programming. At this time we will not be offering a Preschool or After-School program in order to allow us to continue that reevaluation. We made this decision as quickly as possible to help in planning for the coming school year.
Children are a gift from God! We take ministry with them seriously and with great joy we will be looking for ways to offer children & families worship and music and other creative experiences in this season of exploration. Please call Pastor Becky Purcell with your thoughts, questions and ideas.
We are grateful for the heart and dedication of Mrs. Beth and Mrs. Jenny, teachers in the weekday programs. While we don’t know what the future may bring for them and for weekday children’s programming at the church we trust that--walking in the light of God’s love-- God does provide and works all things for good. Mrs. Beth and Mrs. Jenny will be fully paid through the end of June. Please call them to share words & gifts of appreciation.
We keep in prayer the child recovering at home and all our children: may the love of God surround them & their families, the power of the Holy Spirit sustain them all, and the light of Christ lift up us all to the honor and glory of God.
